True Lit: Fayetteville’s Literary Festival will be held Monday, October 17, through Thursday October 27 this fall. The literary festival, in its fourth year, will offer a variety of events, including author talks, writing workshops, and more. True Lit is sponsored by the Fayetteville Public Library, Fayetteville Public Schools, Fayetteville Education Foundation, Fayetteville Montessori School, and the University of Arkansas Program in Creative Writing and Translation.

The festival organizers are proud to host award-winning children’s and young adult author Louis Sachar as the headliner for the festival this year. Sachar is best known for the Wayside School series and Holes, winner of both a Newbery Medal and a National Book Award.

During the festival, Sachar will be the featured speaker at the Young Author’s Series for Fayetteville Public Schools’ fourth graders and the Blair Lecture Series for twelfth graders. The Jim Blair Author and Lecture Series is dedicated to bringing authors and writing workshops to Fayetteville High School students and is made possible through an endowment with the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation.

The public is invited to hear Sachar speak at Fayetteville Public Library on Wednesday, October 26, at 7 p.m.

The goal of the True Lit festival is to help encourage people to tell their stories. Please visit www.truelitfest.com for updates to the festival schedule.
